1 lb. dried pinto's with 1/4 cup of white beans
5 or 6 cups of water
1/2 to 1 cup bacon drippings
Salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Combine beans in a pan with water. Rinse 2 or 3 times. Put 5 or 6 cups hot water and place on stove to cook over low flame. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours or until beans are soft to mash. Mash beans wit potato masher and add bacon drippings. Mis well. continue cooking, stirring frequently until beans are thickened and fat is absorbed. Salt to taste.
