6 c all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 lb butter
2 tsp grated orange rind
2 c granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
(if desired can also add 1/4 tsp almond extract)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside.
Cream together butter and orange rind until soft. Gradually add sugar and combine until light and fluffy. Add eggs in one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add in vanilla. Mix well. Slowly add in flour mixture. Once combined chill for 30 mins. Once chilled preheat oven to 375º roll out dough to about 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut out cookies with floured cookie cutters. Bake for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
