Pudding:
1- 4 serving size pkg vanilla cook and serve pudding mix
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 1/2 cups milk
25 vanilla wafers
2 lg bananas, sliced

Topping:
2 egg whites
dash salt
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine pudding mix, yolks, and milk in heavy saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full rolling boil. Remove from heat. Arrange layers of wafers in bottom and on sides of 1 1/2 qt baking dish. Add a layer of banana slices. Then put down a layer of pudding. Repeat layers.

Beat egg whites with salt with rotary beater until foamy. Gradually beat in sugar and continue beating until mixture forms shiny stiff peaks. Pile lightly on pudding and seals edges well.

Bake at 425º for 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve warm or chilled. Garnish with additional banana slices, if desired.
