1 c butter
1-1/2 c sugar
3 large eggs
1 c ground hazelnuts
2 c flour
1 heaping tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cocoa
3 to 4 small to medium sized apples

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter & sugar. Beat the eggs then combine into the mixture. Blend in all the remaining ingredients until a thick batter forms.
Peel, core and cut apples in half. Cut slices in the apples, being careful not to cut the whole way through.
Place the batter in a lightly buttered (or vegetable oil sprayed) 9 inch spring form cake pan. In a circular fashion place the apple half gently on top.
Bake in a 350F oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
