1 C raisins
1 C water
3/4 C shortening
1 1/2 C sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
2 C rolled oats

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer raisins & water over low heat 20 min until plump. Drain liquid into cup and add water to make 1/2 Cup.
Cream shortening, sugar,egg & vanilla. Stir in raisin liquid. Mix dry ingredients and add to mixture.
Add oatmeal & raisins & stir. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400º 8-10 min
