1 c. milk
3-4 T. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter, softened
1-2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, cook together milk and flour until thick, then chill in refrigerator until set. In a bowl, cream sugar, butter and vanilla until it's as fluffy as possible then add the cooked flour mixture. Beat until it resembles whipped cream. Frost cooled cake layers. Very good and enough for a layered cake or a 9 x 13 sheet cake.

This frosting is worth the extra effort that it takes to make it. Very good. A long time family favorite.
