4 slices Texas toast (1 inch thick white bread)
6 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 cup light cream
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp light corn syrup

Directions:

Butter or spray a 9 inch square baking pan. Overlap bread slices to completely fill pan.

Combine eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon mixing well. Pour over bread slices, cover and refrigerate overnight.

Next day, remove from refrigerator and let set out 1/2 hour before baking while preheating the oven to 350º.

In a small bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup. Mix and spread mixture evenly over the bread. Bake 45-60 minutes or until puffed and golden. Serve with maple syrup.
