Directions:Mix cake following directions on the box.
Divide unequal portions into three separate cake pans
Bake according to directions.
To frost:
1. Place first layer on a cake plate and frost, layer will have a hump in the middle
2nd layer will be uneven when placed on the 1st layer b/c there is another hump in the middle
2. Mash down 2nd layer to try to even out the hump in the middle and frost that layer
3. Now for the top layer, this will take a little extra effort
4. When you add the top layer to the first two, the sides will not touch; there will be a big gap due to the large hump in the middle. Take your hands and mash down the sides of the cake layers until they touch. This will create a 2 inch crater or cavity on the surface of the cake resembling where a bomb or military mine exploded.
Perfect!
5. Now the trick is to attempt to fill this cavity with one of the containers of frosting. You may need to place container in the microwave for a minute or so to liquefy and make it a little easier to spread or pour.
6. Once completed with all the frosting, wrap cake in aluminum foil. This will cause the frosting to stick to the foil and it adds additional character to the cake when foil is removed.
