3/4 c shortening
1 c sugar
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
2 c flour
1/4 t salt
2 t baking soda
1t cinnamon
1t cloves
1 t ginger
An extra small bowl of sugar to roll cookie balls in.

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar then add the molasses. Add the whipped egg . Sift flour,salt and baking soda. Mix altogether with the 3 spices. Fold all ingredients. Roll batter into balls and roll them in sugar before placing on a cookie sheet and compress these with a fork grid pattern.
Bake 375º for 15 minutes
