Ingredients:
2 c. flour, 1 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 c. softened butter, 1 egg, 2 tbsp. brandy or rum, 1/2 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift first 4 ingredients together. Add butter and mix with fingers as for a pie crust. Mixture will form coarse crumbs. Add egg and liquor. Add vanilla and knead until dough holds together. Form into a ball. Place in bowl, cover and refrigerate until chilled. Divide dough into thirds and roll out each third. Roll 1/8 in. thick. Cut with fancy cutters and place on lightly buttered cookie sheets. Allow space between cookies since they spread when baking. Bake in hot oven at 400º for 5 to 10 minutes until done inside. Cool and serve plain or decorate.
