2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. baking soda, 2 tsp. water, 1 c. buttermilk, 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 c. butter melted, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. baking powder, 5 to 6 c. flour.
Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar and eggs and beat well. Dissolve baking soda in water and add to sugar mixture with buttermilk, butter and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in salt and baking powder. Gradually stir in flour.
Cover and chill at least 1 hour. Shape dough into balls. Place on greased baking sheets. Flatten with fork dipped in sugar. Bake at 400º for 10 min. or until lightly browned.
