2 c. sugar
2 cubes margarine
4 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. flour
1 pkg chopped dates
2 c. angel flake coconut
2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1 lb sliced oranges or tangerines
Glaze:
1 can thawed orange juice
1/2 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar and margarine.
Dissolve together buttermilk and soda. Add to above with the eggs.
Mix in large bowl flour, dates, coconut, nuts and oranges.
Bake 300º for 2 1/2 hrs depending on pans used.
Prick with fork to check for doneness.
Prepare glaze by dissolving together.
Pour glaze on while still hot.
Is very pretty done in bundt pan.
