1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
1 lg can fruit (peaches, etc.), drained
1/2 cup margarine or butter (1 stick)

Directions:
Melt butter in 9x13" pan in 350º oven. Mix together 1 cup of the sugar, flour, baking powder & salt. Add milk to a smooth batter with hand whisk. Pour over melted butter-don't stir. Empty fruit over batter. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon to taste. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Batter will rise to the top in the oven. Center test as you would for cake doneness. Use any type of canned pie filling or fruit.
