1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. cream
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 c. chopped nuts
4 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 c. sugar + 1/4 tsp mace

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add cream, spices, salt, vanilla and eggs. Beat well. Add nuts, flour, baking powder and baking soda. Beat until combined. Chill dough overnight.

Roll dough thin and cut with cookie cutters. Sprinkle the top with the sugar and mace mixture.

Bake at 350º on an ungreased cookie sheet for 10 minutes.
