4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
2 large egg yolks
1 1/2 tbsp. vanilla
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)

Adjust oven rack to lower middle position, heat to 325º. Whisk flour, soda, salt together in a bowl. In large bowl beat together melted butter and sugar on medium speed until smooth. Beat in eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla. Add flour mixture slowly on low mixing well. Add chocolate chips (and pecans) and mix well. Roll 2 tbsp of dough into balls, placing 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are set and beginning to brown.
