3 egg yolks, save egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tarter
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3/4 cup cold water
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup plus 5 tbsp sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg white, 1/4 tsp cream of tarter, 1/2 tsp. and almond extract. Beat egg yolks; add water beat until thick. Sift dry ingredients; add with sugar alternating into egg yolk mixture. Fold in beaten egg whites. Place in a greased Tube pan and bake 350º F for 1 hour.

This was found among Grandma Clara Ready's recipes in her handwriting. On the last line it was written 45 min. layers. Not sure what this means many bake for 45 minutes and the cake is in layers.
