1 cup melted lard
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp baking soda dissolved in 1/4 cup boiling water
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cocoa
1 tsp salt
Nuts, coconut or raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat over to 400 degrees. Sift together flour, cinnamon, cocoa and salt. Set aside. Mix together lard, brown sugar. Add eggs and baking soda water. Mix well. Add flour mixture and nuts, coconut or raisins if desired.

Drop by teaspoons full onto greased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
