3 squares baking chocolate
1 cup butter
4 beaten eggs
1 ½ cups sugar
2 ½ cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate and butter together over very low heat. Beat sugar and eggs together, add chocolate. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop onto waffle iron for 1 minute. Let cool , then frost.

Frosting:

1 square chocolate
5 Tbsp butter
¼ cup milk
¼ cup sugar
1 lb powdered sugar

Melt chocolate and butter and milk. Remove from heat add sugars and stir til dissolved.

My mom used to make these every year for Christmas. For best results, use a regular waffle iron, not a Belgian iron.
