4 T. butter
2 T. shallot, minced
1 t. minced garlic
2 c.sliced mushrooms
1 c. beef broth
1/3 c. red wine
1 T. worcestershire sauce
1 bay leaf
1/4 t. chopped fresh thyme, or to taste
salt and pepper
1 T. cornstarch
2 T. cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, stir in garlic and shallot, cook until tender, stir in mushrooms. Cook until mushrooms begin to get soft. Pour in beef broth, wine and Worcestershire sauce, add bay leaf and thyme, simmer over med-high heat. add salt and pepper/ to thicken, dissolve cornstarch in cold water and add to sauce slowly. take bay leaves out before serving. If sauce seems a little salty or tart fro wine, just add some heavy cream to taste.
