4 large avocados, peeled, seeded and mashed
1 T. garlic, crushed
2 T. fresh lemon juice
1½ tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. sugar
1 to 2 T. chopped parsley or cilantro, to taste
1 jalapeno, seeded, minced or to taste
¼ c. finely minced onion - sweet, red, or green (white and light green portion) as preferred
½ c. finely diced tomato - optional

Mix all ingredients together. Cover the guacamole tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate until flavors blend - at least 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
