Cake
1 cup vegetable oil
11/2 cups sugar
1 cup buttermilk (dissolve with 11/2 tsp Soda)
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. Allspice
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup prunes (cooked and cut up)
1 cup chopped nuts



Sauce
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk (dissolve with 1/2 tsp. Soda)
1 Tbsp. white syrup
3/4 stick butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Cake:
Mix cake ingredients and pour into 2 - 9-inch layer pans and bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes. While cake is baking, make the sauce.

Sauce:
Mix all ingredients in sauce pan and boil about 1 minute. Pour over cake while it is still warm
