4 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 cup softened butter
1 cup powdered sugar sifted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 tsp. almond extract

Frosting

1 can vanilla frosting
Crushed peppermint candy canes
Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, soda, tartar and salt and set aside.
Beat butter , powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
Add oil, eggs and extract and beat until combined.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix all until combined.
Cover and chill dough .for 30 minutes .
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Break off chilled dough and roll dough into 1 inch balls.
Place on cookie sheet 3 inches apart .
Flatten balls to a 1/4 inch thick.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, edges should be light brown.
Cool cookies and then frost with vanilla frosting topped off by a hint of crushed candy canes.
