2 1/2 c. raisins
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 c. water
4 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
Directions:
Directions:
Combine raisins, brown sugar, water, shortening, salt, cinnamon, and cloves in saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat. Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Let cool.

Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease 10" tube pan. Stir flour with baking soda. Fold dry ingredients into cooled raisin mixture. Spoon into pan. Bake 45 - 50 minutes. Cool 5 minutes in pan. Invert on rack to cool.
