2 ¼ c. all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
¾ c. unsalted butter, softened
1 ¼ c. white sugar
1 ¼ c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 eggs
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x13 pan. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the flour mixture. Mix in chocolate chips, if desired. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

Bake for 35-45 minutes in preheated oven. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
