1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
2 T. granulated sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/8 t. salt
1/4 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla. Gradually stir in flour and salt until smooth. Form dough into a ball. Dust a 15" piece of parchment paper with powdered sugar. Transfer dough onto parchment paper, shape into an 8" log. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Preheat over to 350º. Cut cookies into 2" slices using the decorative cutter. Place on a flat baking stone or cookie sheet. Bake for 20-22 minutes. Cool 3 minutes on pay, then remove to a cooling rack. Repeat with remaining dough. Cool completely, sprinkle with powdered sugar or other decoration.
