turnips
salt
meat (neckbone, pigtails, etc.)
water

Directions:
Directions:
Wash turnips until you can't feel grit in the bottom of the sink. I always sprinkle salt over them for the 1st and 2nd washing. This releases the dirt real good. Have your fresh meat in the pot with some water to cook while you are getting the greens ready. When the greens are clean, put them in with the meat and water. Cook until tender. It depends on how young the turnips are. You will need to add water from time to time but not too much.
