French Toast Overnight Casserole Recipe

MAIN DISH:
1 loaf French bread, sliced into 1" thick slices
8 eggs
2 C milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon

TOPPING:
3/4 C butter, softened
1 1/3 C brown sugar, packed
3 T syrup
1/4-1/2 C chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Butter a 9x13" pan.

Fill with bread slices.
Mix remaining main dish ingredients and pour over top of bread.
Refrigerate overnight.

The nest morning, mix topping ingredients and spread over the refrigerated mixture.

Bake at 350º for 50 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
Cover with foil if top is browning too fast.
