Put on to cook:
3 baskets tomatoes or 14 qt. cut

Add:
14 stalks celery and springs cut up
8 whole cloves
8 tsp. salt
4 tsp. pepper
1 cup sugar

In a separate pan, brown:
7 small onions, cut up in
14 T. butter
Rub in:
14 T. flour

Add to the tomatoes and cook until perfectly soft. Strain through sieve. Reheat and can in glass jars. Better to let stand few hours before straining. This is delicious plain or as cream tomato soup.
