1 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
pinch of salt
1/2 c. raisin water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cover raisins with water. Boil for a couple of minutes and then let raisins cool in the water. When cool, drain and retain 1/2 cup of raisin water. Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg, raisin water, and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add gradually to sugar mixture, stirring until well blended. Fold in nuts and raisins. Fill paper cup cake holders a little over half full. Bake at 375º for about 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted in cupcake comes out clean. Frost with caramel frosting.
