1 lb butter
1 cup Verifine or powdered sugar
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Add flour gradually. Knead or stir well

Pour onto ungreased 11x17 cookie sheet and flatten with a spatula. Prick the surface with a fork at 1-1/2 inch intervals. Bake in a slow oven at 325 for 45-60 minutes until golden brown.

Immediately on removing from oven score the shortbread but leave the pieces intact. Sprinkle with extra sugar. Allow to cool and harden before attempting to remove from cookie sheet.
