2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
1 12 ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 12 ounce package Nilla Wafers, crushed
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 quarts any flavor ice cream, softened

Directions:
In a saucepan over medium heat melt the chocolate chips with the milk and salt. Cook and stir until thickened, about 25 minutes. Remove from the heat and set aside. Combine the wafer crumbs and butter and set aside one cup, Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13 dish. Chill for 15 minutes. Pour the chocolate over the crumbs mixture. Cover and freeze for 25 minutes, or until firm. Spread the softened ice cream over the chocolate. I like to use a layer of vanilla and a layer of strawberry ice cream. Sprinkle with the 1 cup of reserved crumbs. Freeze for at least 2 hours until serving. Top with cool whip or any desired toppings scattered over the top.
