Apple Maple Cream Pie Recipe

2 C flour
1 tsp salt
2/3 C crisco
5-7 tbsp ice water
2 tbsp milk
2 tbsp sugar
OR: 2 Pillsbury Pie Crusts

Filling:
5-6 C sliced apples
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3-4 tbsp cornstarch
3/4 C maple syrup
1/2 C heavy cream

Directions:
Directions:
If not using Pillsbury Pie Crusts, combine flour and salt in mixing bowl. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender or 2 knives until uniform. Sprinkle ice water one tbsp at a time. Toss lightly with a fork until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill.

For Filling, combine apples, sugar, salt and cornstarch in mixing bowl. Toss lightly until apples are coated. In separate bowl, combine maple syrup and cream. Pour over filling and mix well. Set aside.

Divide dough into 2. Roll. Put in pie plate. Fill. Cover. Cut vents. Brush on milk. Sprinkle sugar. Bake at 400º for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool. Serve.
