1 stick butter or margarine
2 bags cubed bread – soft
1-2 onions, chopped
4 stalks celery, sliced very fine
1 lb bulk sausage
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Season the celery and onion with salt and pepper. Also, rub the turkey cavity with salt. Saute the onion and celery in butter. Mix in water as needed. Do not allow to brown. Mix into bread and sausage with fingers. Add water or chicken broth to moisten. Fill main and neck cavity of bird with the stuffing. Bake turkey according to directions for stuffed poultry

This is the stuffing I grew up with. It is moist and full of flavor. I used turkey sausage once we wanted a healthier version.
