1 Cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 package chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs, hot water and vanilla. In separate bowl sift flour, soda and salt then combine with creamed mixture. Stir in oatmeal, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake 8 minutes at 375º.
