2 1/2 tsp. cake flour
1/2 c. milk
1/2 shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
blend flour and milk. Cook to very thick paste about 10 minutes. Stirring constantly. Cool to lukewarm. Meanwhile cream shortening with sugar and salt. Add the lukewarm paste and beat with mixer. Beat until fluffy and add vanilla and nuts. Use about 1/3 amount for filling. To remainder blend in up to 1 c. powdered sugar to make a more generous amount for top and sides of cake.
