"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 cups of finely crumbled graham crackers
- 1 small package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 package of coconut
- 1 package of pecan pieces
- 1 can of Eagle Brand Milk

Directions:
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375ºF
- Melt 1 stick of butter into a 9x11 glass dish (can use a 9x9 for thicker bar cookies) (usually I microwave the butter to melt it rather than in the oven so that way it doesn't burn).
- Finely crumble 2 cups of graham crackers. Sprinkle over the butter evenly. (2 cups is about 1 - 1.5 packages of grahams sleeves).
- Spread 1 package of chocolate chips over graham cracker crumbles. (Grams uses less because it can be too rich - but do it to taste).
- Spread 1 package of coconut over chips (though I use alot less than this personally. I use about 1/4 of a package or bag).
- Spread 1 package of pecan pieces over coconut (I always make sure these are small pieces to help with cutting to serve later - and again, I only use about 1 or so cups).
- Pour 1 can of Eagle Brand Milk over all. (It will evenly cover the entire dish if you take your time. I use a can opener to make a hole and then let it slowly drain as I spread it evenly).

Bake for 15 minutes at 375ºF.

Personal Notes:
This is one of my Grams favorites!!! She loves to put them in the freezer and eat them a little at a time. They've been a favorite in the family for the holidays for many years now. And there aren't ever any left over to take home.... wonder why that is???
