Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup hard butter (softened), 1 cup icing sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp almond extract, 1 tsp vanilla, 21/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt. (I never use this much salt...maybe about 1/4 tsp.), 3/4 cups Blanched Almonds, red food coloring.

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl mix together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in flour, baking powder, and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. When cooled, take a rolling teaspoon of dough and mold it in your hand into a finger shape for each cookie. Press almond firmly into one end for the fingernail. Using a knife make slashes in appropriate places to form knuckles. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until a pale golden brown. Let cool for 3 minutes. Lift the nail and squeeze red food decorator gel unto nail bed and press almond back
