2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp.salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg, unbeaten
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. orange juice
1 T. grated orange rind
1/2 T. lemon extract
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

Sift flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder together. Put butter, brown sugar, egg, and sugar into a small mixing bowl. Beat for 1 minute. Add sifted flour mixture, orange juice, orange rind, lemon extract, and nuts. Beat for 1 1/2 minutes. Shape into rolls, wrap in waxed paper. Chill several hours. Then slice thin (1/4 inch) with sharp knife. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes.
Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.
