1 can tomatoes
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 can pinto beans
1 onion (chopped)
1 sweet pepper (chopped)
1/2 cup ketchup
1 box Jiffy cornbread mix

Directions:
Directions:
Brown hamburger. Drain. Add all ingredients (except Jiffy mix, milk and egg). Simmer approximately 10 minutes. Then pour in a 9x12 baking dish. Mix milk, egg and Jiffy mix together. Pour over top. Place in a preheated oven. Bake at 350º for about 20 minutes until brown.

As kids living next to Grandma and Pa, I remember the boys asking her to please make us corn pone and she always would. It's still John's favorite dish she made.
