1 gallon firm cucumbers, sliced in paper thin rounds
8 small onions
2 green peppers
2 red peppers
Brine -
5 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
2 teaspoons mustard seeds
5 cups white vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 1/2 cup salt in 1 quart cracked ice. Pack around the mixed pickling vegetables in stone crock. Cover crock with weighted lid and allow to stand 3 hours, then drain.

Mix brine ingredients. Pour over pickles in large enamel or aluminum kettle. Bring to a boiling point over low heat. Then pour into jars and seal. Makes 7 pints.
