1/2 c. softened butter, 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 egg, 2 tbsp. water, 2 eggs, 1 c. brown sugar packed, 2 tbsp. flour, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 c. chopped pecans.

Heat oven to 350º F. Mix butter, flour, salt and sugar with a pastry blender until consistency of fine corn meal. Mix in 1 egg and water. Press into 12 in. x 8 in. x 2 in. baking dish. Bake 15 min. Beat 2 eggs and add the remaining ingredients of brown sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, vanilla and chopped pecans and mix well. Spread over baked layer. Bake 40 min. Cool in dish and cut into sticks.
