Ingredients: 1 pkg. Martha White Hush Puppy mix 6 pieces white bread toasted 1 large onion, chopped 1 tsp. melted butter 1/2 cup celery, chopped 1 tbsp. chicken bouillon Salt to taste Turkey to chicken stock boiling 4 eggs beaten 2 cups boiling water 2 tbsp. butter 3 eggs 1 cup buttermilk 1/4 baking soda

Directions:Preheat oven to 395º.
Stage 1: Mix hush puppy mix with 2 cups of boiling water, 2 tbsp. butter, 3 eggs, 1 cup of buttermilk and 1/4 tsp. baking soda.
Blend until lumps are dissolved. Pour into an oiled 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Bake for 45 minutes and cool.
Preheat oven to 450.
Stage 2: Saute onion and celery in melted butter until soft. Add to hush puppy mixture and toasted bread. Sprinkle bouillon over all and pour boiling stock until the consistency of white sauce.
Pour into a 9x13" baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. |
