Grandma Steffen's Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients:  
Noodles 1 lb box lasagna noodles (not no cook)
Sauce:
2 28 oz. cans peeled crushed tomatoes
2 lbs. ground beef
1 onion 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
palm full basil
1/2 palm full oregano
1 pinch of ground red pepper
Simmer 30 minutes.

Filling:
1 lb. ricotta
4 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 lb. Romano cheese (grated)
Mix together.

1 lb. mozzarella cheese slices or grated

Directions:
Directions:
heat oven to 375º.

Layer in 9 X 13 pan:
Meat sauce on bottom, lasagna noodles, cheese mixture then grated or sliced mozzarella.
Layer three times in pan and put remaining meat sauce on top. Sprinkle with some mozzarella and bake for 30-40 minutes.

This has a lot more flavor if refrigerated over night and baked for 1 1/2 hours.
