7 cups flour
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup butter or margarine
1 cup shortening
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk together flour, cream of tartar and baking soda in large bowl. Set aside. In large bowl cream butter, shortening and sugar on medium speed. Adding on egg at a time blending well after each egg is added. Add vanilla and mix well. Combine flour mixture mixing well. Refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours. Preheat oven to 375º. On lightly floured surface roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Bake on cookie sheets for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are slightly firm. Remove from pans onto rack until cool. Frost and decorate. Store in airtight container with wax paper between layers of cookies.
