1/2 c butter
1/2 c creamy peanut butter
1/2 c granulated sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 t vanilla
1c flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Grease cookie sheet.
Heat oven to 350º
Whip shortening and peanut butter.
Add sugars and cream with peanut butter mixture.
Add egg and vanilla, stirring until you have a smooth batter.
Sift flour, salt and baking soda into mixture; stir slowly.
You will have a stiff, light brown cookie batter.
Scoop out cookies with a teaspoon.
Press down with a fork, making crisscross marks on the cookies.
Bake for 10 minutes.
