3/4 c shortening
1 c brown sugar, packed
1/4 c molasses
1 egg
2 1/4 c flour
2 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 t ground ginger
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t ground cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar, molasses and egg till fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Form dough into small balls. Roll in sugar, place on greased cookie sheet and bake 10 min. at 375º.
