1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoon corn syrup
9 inch round loaf bread (I use challah)
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cup half & half
1 teaspoon vanilla'
1 teaspoon grand marnier (you won't miss this - if you don't have it)
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Melt butter, brown sugar & corn syrup until smooth. Pour in 13-9-2 inch baking dish.
Cut bread into 1 inch thick slices.
Arrange bread in baking dish, squeeze to fit.
In bowl wisk eggs, half & half, vanilla, grand
marnier & salt.
Pour over bread.
Chill at least 8 hours - up to one day.
Preheat over 350 degrees.
Bring bread to room temp.
Bake uncovered 35-40 minutes until pale golden.
