2 large heads of fresh cabbage (put in freezer for a few days)
1 cup uncooked rice
1 pound ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1 pound ground ham
2 eggs
1 c. diced onions
1 T. garlic powder
1 T. fresh parsley
1 bag of sauerkraut (I use 2 bags)
2 C. Tomato Juice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together all ingredients except for the cabbage and tomato juice.
Cut the core out of the core of the cabbage and boil the cabbage heads for about 10 minutes or until soft enough to bend.
Place a "ball" of meat in one leaf, and roll once, then tuck each end in, and finish rolling.
Place all sarma's in a roaster pan, cover with sauerkraut,tomato juice and water.
Bake at 350 for 1 1/2 hrs, or until sarma's are nice and tender
Serve with boiled potatoes or as a side dish on Holidays. Makes about 3 dozen.
You can also freeze the leftovers and they are still great!!
