Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 C oatmeal
1 1/2 C boiling water
1 C brown sugar
1 C sugar
1/2 C margarine
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 C flour
1/2 t salt
1 t baking soda

Topping:
In a pan on top of the stove combine:
1/2 C butter (when melted turn off heat and add all other ingredients not in the pan)
1 C brown sugar
1/4 C cream or undiluted canned milk
1 1/2 C walnuts
2 C coconut
1 t vanilla
1 t cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients, place in a greased 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. After putting batter in the pan sprinkle on 1 C chocolate chips. Bake for 30 minutes at 350º.

When cake is done baking, turn oven up to broil. Spread topping onto the edges of the cake and work it carefully toward the center so the center of the cake does not fall. Broil for 1-2 minutes. Watch it VERY closely. It will burn easily. Just brown the topping slightly. Hint: if the cake is just a little under-done that is great. It will cook a little more during the broiling stage.
