1 lb spicy Italian sausage, crumbled
1/4 real bacon bits
1 1/2 quartts water
2 (14.5 oz each) chicken broth
2 large russet potatoes, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1 medium onion
2 cups kale, cut into bite size pieces
1 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
In a skillet, over medium heat, brown sausage, breaking into small pieces. Drain well and set aside. Put water, broth, potatoes, garlic and onion in a pot. Simmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Add sausage and bacon. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add kale and cream. Heat thoroughly.
